Calculation software for your astrology practice.

Why Maia?

Maia is the program I created to calculate and draw birth charts. It doesn't read your chart for you: it gives you the exact data so you can interpret it yourself.

I created it because I wanted a program much more affordable for everyone. Professional programs, for me, have a drawback: you have to do some calculations by hand. Maia already gives them to you done.

And why the name? For three reasons.

1. The messenger's mother. In mythology, Maia is the mother of Hermes (Mercury, the planet, for friends). Hermes carries the messages, but the one who taught him to interpret the world was her. The program does a similar job: it takes the sky and turns it into a chart that can be read.

2. Blooming. Maia is also the goddess of spring and growth. For me astrology is not about telling you what will happen to you, as if it were a sentence. It is for growing and blooming with all the information at hand, and everything starts with a well-calculated chart.

3. The veil of illusion. In Hindu philosophy, Maia is the veil that covers reality. An uncalculated chart is just that, a veil. Maia removes it and lets you see what is behind: your challenges, your gifts, and your cycles.
